What did Nintendo announce in the latest Nintendo Direct? What game named their collection the “handsome” collection? Why is a 4-year old game getting DLC?

All of these questions (including some you never asked) are answered on this weeks News Roundup.

New Majora’s Mask 3DS Gameplay Trailer

Nintendo released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS showing off some of the new features included in this HD re-release.

Some of the new features seen in the trailer include the upgraded Bombers Notebook, allowing the player to come across and track side-quests easier. Fishing has also been included in the re-release, which has been present in a few Zelda games but not the original Majora’s Mask.

As a fan of the original Majora’s Mask, I’m excited for the re-release and the changes accompanying it. Side-quests in Majora’s Mask required an extreme amount of exploring as there was three different days with certain events happening on specific days. The changes made to the bomber-notebook seem to be beneficial to the pacing of the side-quests, just hopefully it doesn’t oversimplify the side-quests themselves.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS is due out February 13th.

AC Unity Releases 1st Story DLC

Set after the main story, the Dead Kings DLC for Assassin’s Creed Unity follows Arno’s story as he explores the new city of Saint Denis and the catacombs the lay beneath.

The DLC also features a new weapon known as the guillotine gun as well as new side missions and the ability to solve puzzles within the catacombs. AC Unity was known for it’s buggy release, so fingers crossed that this DLC is a lot more polished than the main game.

AC Unity: Dead Kings DLC is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Wii Games Available On Wii U

Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, Wii games will now be available to download on the Wii U E-Shop. However, the real piece of news here is that for the next 3 weeks each Wii game added to the shop will be half price (€9.99) for the 1st week of it’s release.

As I’m writing this, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is currently half price with Punch Out! to be released next week followed by the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of the highest rated games on Metacritic for the Wii and at €9.99 it’s a steal.

All games are to be released on the Wii U’s E-Shop in the next couple weeks.

Rockband 3 Getting New DLC

Even though Rockband 3 was released October 26th 2010, that’s not stopping Harmonix from releasing new DLC for it. The last DLC released for Rockband was April 2nd, 2013 as Harmonix wished to move on to new projects. I guess they’ve finished with their new projects however as DLC was released January 13th, after a break of 21 months.

Nick Chester, Harmonix PR conducted an interview with IGN about the new DLC saying “..we wanted to see if we could still do it. Turns out we can. It’s sort of like riding a bike.”

Borderlands Comes to PS4/Xbone

Announced today, Borderlands 2 as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released together as ‘The Handsome Collection’ on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Included in the collection is all available DLC for both games.

Players who have save data on older consoles will be able to transfer it onto the next consoles through cross-save functionality. A remote-controlled Claptrap is also available as part of the Handsome Collection Collectors edition.

The Handsome Collection is out March 27th for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
