Bethesda recently announced that there were no plans to bring mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4 to the PlayStation 4. This was a big disappointment to Bethesda fans playing on the PS4 and was apparently due to a dispute between Sony and Bethesda over the implementation of the mod system on PS4.

However, the issue seems to have been resolved with Bethesda now confirming that mods will indeed be making their way to PS4 players of both titles. Mod support will be available for Skyrim: Special Edition immediately upon launch on October 28th with mod support for Fallout 4 following that once work on Skyrim has been completed. Mods will be limited to using only the assets available in the mod creation toolkit; external assets (graphics, textures etc) will not be supported.

Additionally, both games will have 4K support on the PlayStation 4 Pro in the near future.

The following statement was released by the developer:

We are excited finally to get modding to our PlayStation fans who have supported us for so long. Modding has been an important part of our games for over 10 years, and we hope to do even more in the coming year for all our players, regardless of platform.
