Apologies for the lack of content on the website recently. Today, we have a roundup of the biggest gaming news to recently emerge in the past couple weeks.

First Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC pack – “Onslaught” – out today on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

January 28th saw the release of the first batch of Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC, the “Onslaught” map pack which included 4 new multiplayer maps, the first in a new series of ‘Extinction’ episodes and finally, a bonus multiplayer weapon. The map pack releases first on Xbox 360 and Xbox One due to the timed exclusivity deal Microsoft have in place with publishers Activision.

The four multiplayer maps seem to have adopted a ‘spooky’ theme, each having a unique design and layout. The map pack is available for the price of €14.99/£11.99, or is available in a season pass set of all four map packs at the price of €49.99/£34.99. Alien: Isolation Announced

January 7th saw the release of a trailer for the upcoming game “Alien: Isolation”. The game is to be a first-person survival horror stealth game, set 15 years after the original Alien movie. Here’s hoping that the game is drastically better than the recent “Aliens: Colonial Marines” which was panned by game critics. As of yet there is no release date other than “Late 2014”. Playstation Now – Stream Games Directly to Your Console/Smartphone/TV

The major announcement to come out of CES is Sony’s new game streaming service: Playstation Now. This service will allow streaming of games like “The Last of Us” to Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and eventually Sony branded TV’s and non-Sony devices. No release date has been announced for the service other than “summer 2014”. More info can be found about Playstation now here.

Microsoft secure the rights for Gears Of War

On the 27th of January Microsoft acquired the rights to the “Gears of War” franchise from Epic Games. Microsoft also announced that further development of the Gears of War franchise will be handled by “Black Tusk Studios”, formerly known as Microsoft Vancouver.

February’s Playstation Plus Content

A new month means new games for Playstation plus users. “Outlast” comes to the Playstation 4 and is out today. Over on the Playstation 3, “Metro: Last Light” arrived on the 29th of January, along with another critically acclaimed game: “Bioshock Infinite”. For Playstation Vita owners, “Dynasty Warriors Next” and “Modnation Racers: Road Trip” both arrived on the 29th of January.

Hotline Miami 2 Release Date Announced

Dennaton Games announced through twitter that Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is expected to come out in the 3rd quarter of 2014. We are extremely excited to see how this game does as the original Hotline Miami was our runner up for Indie Game of 2012.

Wolf Among Us Episode 2 Coming Soon

TellTale Games have announced that the second episode of “Wolf Among Us” will hit digital stores the first week of February. TellTale Games have also apologized for the long delay between episodes and assures that it won’t happen again. The official press release can be found here.

PS Vita Slim Announced for UK

The new Playstation Vita Slim will be avaliable to buy in the UK on February 7th with an estimated retailer price of £180. The main difference between the older and newer model is the switch from an OLED to an LED display. More details about the new system can be found here.


PS4 1.60 Fimware Update

The 1.60 Fireware update for the Playstation 4 will land later tonight according to Sony. This update will open up the range of compatible headsets with the console. Headsets such as Sony’s Pulse and Pulse Elite Edition wireless stereo headsets will now work with the console.
