Star Wars occupied a large chunk of EA’s press conference as the publisher announced a new Star Wars game and gave an update on the two games we already knew to be in-development.

Firstly, EA announced that a new Star Wars: Battlefront will launch next year and will improve on the first game according the player feedback that the developer has received, including adding content from the new films in the Star Wars series. EA remained tight lipped on this and did not sure much further information.

Secondly, EA reminded us about the Star Wars game on the way from Amy Hennig and Visceral and confirmed that it will launch in 2018. This game will have an original story and feature well known characters from the Star Wars universe.

Finally, a new third-person Star Wars game was announced which is being developed by Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall. Again, no further details were revealed, but the confirmation is exciting nonetheless!

Criterion Games are also working on an exclusive Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay mission for the Playstation VR.
