Good evening everyone! Welcome to our review of the new release Angry Birds Trilogy which consists of the original 3 Angry Birds games upgraded to HD/3D and brought to consoles in their entirety for the first time. Read on to find out what we thought of the package…

Angry Birds Trilogy is essential a console port of Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio with updated graphics, 3D support and Kinect/PS Move features. It retails at a normal retail game price, however, this is almost 10 times the price of the games on iOS, their original platform.

While the game looks graphically beautiful and sounds amazing, consumers have been wondering if it is worth splashing the cash on a series of games that can be bought for under £5 on the iPhone/iPad App Store.

The game itself works very well – controls have been implemented excellently and it works with ease and accuracy. A great job has been done in the transition from touchscreen to controller, something which can prove a challenge for developers to get right.

Fully animated cutscenes have also replaced the original still images present on the iOS versions, these cutscenes do look lovely and are a nice bonus for this addictive game, however, the question remains: are these improvements worth the exaggerated price?

I am going to have to say no on this occasion. While this game really does play excellently and has a lot to offer it terms of gameplay time, beautiful backgrounds and cute, fluffy birds… it isn’t worth it at it’s full RRP.

Luckily for Activision, the game is available for a lot less than it’s RRP in most locations. If you can find this title for around £20, I would suggest giving it a go. While the iOS versions are a lot cheaper, the game feels much better on the TV and it looks amazing. The backgrounds have been designed with beauty and, in general, the game looks great.

To end the review, I am going to suggest that fans of the series purchase this if they can find it for around £20. The big screen does wonders for the game and it plays great. It will provide you with more gameplay time that most games can and those birds are really, really cute! Here are the final scores:
